Objective of the Study
To study the application of the various quantitative methods and their application
to Supply Chain Management.
Also highlight the deficiency of studying the Quantitative Methods in isolation
with reference to Supply Chain Management at the "Managerial" level.
Methodology
The study is divided into three parts. The first part shows solved examples
where quantitative methods have been applied to cases highlighting the application
in Supply
Chain Management.
The second part shows how various companies have used new and innovative methods
in their supply chain to attain their objectives. Various real life examples
have been listed to show that the managers at these companies have found out
novel ways to solve problems.
The last part discusses a couple of contemporary ideas relevant to SCM being
discussed these days. These help managers to have a view of what new ideas are
present for them to incorporate these in their own organizations.
