Will Smith provides the voice for Oscar - a fast-talking lowest fish on the
reef food chain. This fish works as a tongue cleaner for whales at an old school
fish city's Whale. It's a disgusting, down and dirty job, but Oscar is never
bogged down by it, He is a dreamer of big dreams, hoping to move up on to the
east side someday. His life's only motive is to get rich and famous. He is a
self centered and mean fish. He also fails to reciprocate love of his secret
admirer Angie (Renée Zellweger) which she loans Oscar an antique pearl
to pay off 5,000 clams in loan-shark debt, he shows his shallowness by taking
the money to the racetrack and loses it all on a long-shot seahorse.
Don Lino (Robert De Niro) is the god father of the reef. He has two sons named
Frankie (Michael Imperioli) and Lenny (Jack Black). Frankie is aggressive and
dangerous type a killing machine whereas Lenny is aloof, meek and a vegetarian.
Oscar goes through numerous events from blowing the money to the chase by Frankie
and Lenny. But it is Oscar's day and he is saved by a weird trail of confusion.
Frankie is smacked in the head with a boat anchor and dies right on the spot.
For Oscar it is the right time to twist the accident into a story of a brave
fish. Of course he was there at the right place and right time for the first
time in his life. With this the shark slayer is born. He gets all the respect
and fame he has been dreaming of for a long time. He reaches the top of the
reef in no time.
Oscar's fame gets to his head. He starts ignoring his friends and gets involved
with a money-chasing fish named Lola (Angeina Jolie) characterized by her oversized
lips. At this point Oscar is forgetting that there is Lenny who is the only
one who knows his secret.
Shark Tale is a fun treat which is worth a watch by both kids and adults.
It is a film which keeps you laughing right from the beginning to the very end.
It is fast paced and full of jokes which makes it more fun to watch. Shark Tale
does not have any new to show but it makes up for with sassy humor, bright,
effective animation and terrific vocal work by all the actors. The CGI is breath-taking,
the undersea details are amazing and characters are believable. It is a must
see family movie for everyone.
