A stupid trick

This one isn't worth thinking about.

The slopes of the triangles are slightly (very slightly) different. It's like looking for a needle on mars. You wouldn't know where to start looking.

they oviously moved the orange peace NEXT to the lyt green 1 nd the red nd drk green which really dosnt matter.

Slope not equal

If u see the pic carefully, u'll notice tht the slopes for the hypotenuse of the triangle are not equal. Thus the two triangles dont really cover the same area, but being an example of optical illusion it appears tht they do.

teh slope of the two smaller triangles is different, therefore makign it appear to be a triangle but in reality is a quadrilateral like you said.
