FlashAmp is the audio visualization and lip-sync utility for Macromedia Flash MX 2004 as used by hundreds of professional Flash developers around the world. FlashAmp 2 is now available - in three different editions: Lite, Standard and Pro. Each of the editions includes new features, a new and improved user interface and a host of other improvements.
FlashAmp is a stand-alone application that produces synchronization data specifically for use with Macromedia Flash. It allows you to control animations and other events in Flash using amplitude or spectrum (frequency) values derived from sound files. Amplitude values represent the relative loudness of a sound wave, whereas spectrum values represent the relative power of individual frequency bands within a sound.
Using FlashAmp you can select a sound file, then set parameters including the resolution and scale of the output values as well as optional smoothing of the values. Once these parameters are set then FlashAmp will create an array of values suitable for use directly with Flash MX and Flash 5. FlashAmp will optionally output a parallel array of audio cue point names. As your Flash file plays you simply reference the current value in the array(s) using the current frame as the index.
Using FlashAmp you can produce sound-based animations like this one. Notice that synchronization is maintained even if the sound stream drops out and also that the frequency display does actually represent the frequency content of the sound - unlike many other Flash 'eq' display solutions.
FlashAmp is available in three editions: FlashAmp Lite, FlashAmp
Standard and FlashAmp Pro.
