Longfellow, Henry Wadsworth (1807-1882) - American poet and professor whose
work was immensely popular both at home and abroad. Many consider him an
adaptive, rather than creative, poet. In 1884 his bust was placed in
Westminster Abbey, making him the only American author to be so honored.
