Haggard, Henry Rider (1856-1925) - English novelist best known for his
romantic adventure novels written against South African backgrounds.
She (1887) - Haggard's most successful work tells the remarkable story of
Horace Holly and his charge Leo Vincey as they go in search of the white
queen and the Fire of Life. These things are related to them in some old
Greek manuscripts which recount the history of the Vincey family and also
contain an appeal to the descendants of Kallikrates to avenge his murder.
