Doyle, Sir Arthur Conan (1859-1930) - Scottish-born English writer known for
his detective stories based around the character of Sherlock Holmes. Doyle
was a physician before gaining fame as a writer and, in his later years, he
devoted most of his time to the study of spiritualism and the occult.
A Scandal in Bohemia (1891) - The King of Bohemia hires Holmes to get an
incriminating photograph from Irene Adler, the only woman to ever outwit
Holmes.
