Doyle, Sir Arthur Conan (1859-1930) - Scottish-born English writer known for
his detective stories based around the character of Sherlock Holmes. Doyle
was a physician before gaining fame as a writer and, in his later years, he
devoted most of his time to the study of spiritualism and the occult.

to help his female governess who has been accused of killing his wife on
a bridge in Hampshire.
