Demosthenes (383-322 BC) - Athenian statesman and the most famous of Greek
orators. He was leader of a patriotic party opposing Philip of Macedon.
The Oration on the State of the Chersonesus (341 BC) - Spoken within a
short space of the Third Philippic. While the Third Philippic takes a broad
look at the state of affairs with Philip, "The Oration on the State of the
Chersonesus" regards the situation chiefly from an Athenian point of view.
