Aeschines (389-314 BC) - Athenian orator and political opponent of
Demosthenes. Aeschines was forced into exile in 330 BC.
Oration of Aeschines against Ctesiphon (330 BC) - Aeschines' oration
against Ctesiphon's proposal that Demosthenes should receive a crown for
extraordinary merit. Aeschines attacks Demosthenes' public career and
commences a suit against Ctesiphon for proposing an unconstitutional act.
This oration led to Demosthenes' immortal "Oration on the Crown."
