Shakespeare, William (1564-1616) - English dramatist and poet widely
regarded as the greatest and most influential writer in all of world
literature. The richness of Shakespeare's genius transcends time; his keen

Merry Wives of Windsor (1598) - A comedy in which Sir Falstaff attempts to
seduce Mrs. Page and Mrs. Ford for their money. The ladies discover his plot
and develop their own, while Falstaff's cronies report his plan to Mr. Ford.
