Dumas, Alexandre (1802-1870) - French novelist and playwright who is best
known for his swash-buckling historical romances.
The Man in the Iron Mask (1848-50) - Part of a group of romances known as
Le Vicomte de Bragelonne, or The Viscount of Bragelonne, which in turn is
the third part in a series of three romances which follow the fortunes of
D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. The first two parts of the series
are "The Three Musketeers" and "Twenty Years After."
