Verne, Jules (1828-1905) - French novelist known as "the man who invented
the future." He created a unique blend of science and adventure in his very
popular and scientifically prophetic stories. A precursor of modern science
fiction, he influenced the work of H.G. Wells, among others.

adventure-filled expedition to the center of the hollow earth.
