Idylls of the King (1859 -1885)
The first segment of Tennyson's ten-part poetic retelling of the
Arthurian Legend was not published until Robert Browning was fifty
years of age. The work, which follows the life of King Arthur,
Lancelot, Guinevere and the Knight of the Round Table at Camelot
consists of the following books: The Coming of Arthur, Gareth and
Lynette, Geraint and Enid, Merlin and Vivien, Lancelot and Elaine,
The Holy Grail, Pelleas and Etarre, The Last Tournament, Guinevere,
and The Passing of Arthur.
