Thompson, Francis (1859-1907) - English poet. A notably irresponsible and
sickly man, he became addicted to opium, attempted suicide, and was
hospitalized. He was nurtured and encouraged by the poet Alice Meynell and
her husband, Wilfred, the editor who first published Thompson's work.
