Augustine, St. (354-430) - Carthaginian philosopher and early Christian
church father. Born in Roman North Africa of a Christian mother and pagan
father, he was converted to Christianity after years as a Manichaean.
Confessions (400) - A spiritual autobiography describing Augustine's
religious experiences and development, and his eventual conversion to
Christianity.
