At the Foot of the Rainbow (1907)
Quite possibly the best of Porter's novels, the publisher's
synopsis for At the Foot of the Rainbow reads: "Central Indiana
furnishes the rural scene of a story whose characters- two men
and a woman- constitute the modern-drama triangle. It is a tale
of a heroic Scotchman's friendship for a dissipated Irishman who
played the former false when entrusted with a message to the girl
both loved."
