Hippocrates (460-377 BC) - A Greek physician commonly known as the Father
of Medicine. Although little is known of his life, he is thought to have
been a man of high character and moral standards. His medical ethics
survive today as an oath administered to those entering medical practice.
Aphorisms (400 BC) - A collection of medical maxims. One of the writings
which comprise what is now referred to as the Hippocratic Collection.
