And Did Those Feet E-book Author: William Blake Genre: Literature, Poetry
Blake, William (1757-1827) - English poet, engraver, and mystic who
illustrated his own works. A rare genius, he created some of the purest
lyrics in the English language. Blake believed himself to be guided by
visions from the spiritual world; he died singing of the glories of heaven.
And Did Those Feet (1804) - This hymn from Blake's "Milton" was later set
to music. It was sung in the streets by London crowds in 1945 to celebrate
a political victory, and was also used in the film, "Chariots of Fire."
