Great CD!
I'm a huge fan of Jon B's and have been ever since I heard "Pretty Girl" a couple years ago. I have been waiting a long time for this album to finally drop and now that it has I can't get enough of it. Jon B has a great talent, his music is pure soul and heart that shouldn't be unnoticed. The album is filled with great R&B tracks, great beats, great featured artists like Nas, Faith Evans, Cuban Link, and more! The tracks are all different from each other and you can tell he has grown in the past year or so as a musician and a producer. My fav. tracks right now are "Don't Talk", "Cocoa Brown", and "Now That I'm With You". The album was worth the wait! You should grab a copy too, it will be money well spent and you won't be dissapointed. *One Luv*
Jon B Delievers again
With hits under his belt like Someone to Love w/ Babyface, They Dont Know, Are U Still Down featuring the great 2Pac.. Jon B returns with his first release in three years.. This Cd was certainly worth the wait.. This Cd pretty much picks up where Cool Relax left off.. Jon B has a knack for creating some of the hottest slow jams which is the best moments on this CD.. If you like smooth romantic soul this Cd doesnt disappoint with such smooth slow jams like Overjoyed w/ Faith Evans, Boy Is Not A Man, Lonely Girl, Cocoa Brown, Now That I Am With You.. The Cd also features some hot uptempo tracks for those who like to groove Finer Things w/ Nas, All I Want Is You w/ Cuban Link, LayAway w/ AZ, The current single Dont Talk .. If you dont own this already i highly recommend it to you make sure you put it on your list of CDs to get you wont be disappointedAnother great CD from Jon B who continues to get better and better with each release..
Soulful.
Jon has done it again. People tend to forget just how good he is, just cos he's white, so he doesnt always get the recognition he deserves. With tracks such as the infectious 'dont talk', a track you can dance to or just chill. Then another one of my favs, 'sof'n sweet' a smooth soulful tune which you cant help but love. Jon is a man on a mission, he sings, writes and produces almost everything himself as well as playing most of the instruments too. Respect! He just keeps coming out with soulful hits you cant help but love.
A must buy. Soulful hits aplenty. And yeh he's white, who said white people aint got soul?
Set's the mood
Highly Recommended!!! Put it this way, "Cocoa Brown", "Calling on You" and "Inside" all made my "love-mix cd's" which also includes PRINCE, Jodeci, Luthor, Marvin, etc. Nuff Said
This is HOT!!!!
As a fan of Bonafide and Cool Relax, I was anticipating something new from Jon B. So I'm driving home from work when I hear this song titled "Don't Talk". I was like this right here is hot, and I just knew it was Jon B. Jon B. takes alot of heat for "sticking out" but it should always be about the music, although it doesn't hurt that he is NOT bad to look at. Listening to his albums I'm taken back to when Babyface, Joe, and Maxwell were all you needed. So for all who had to wait, this album is definitely worth adding to your collection, just enjoy and wait for something new.
Although a new generation of blue-eyed soulsters has joined the ranks, Jon B remains somewhat of an anomaly within the bubblegum R&B crowd. He may be Caucasian but he practices chocolate love. Ignoring the jackhammer rhythms and pure-pop refrains favored by teen dreams like the Backstreet Boys, the more serious Jon B chooses to keep his music nice and smooth. His latest release harkens back to the slow-jam era of 1996, a time when Kenny Lattimore and Babyface ruled the airwaves. Here's a comforting fact: If you pop this CD in your player you won't have to think any deep thoughts for the 74 minutes it takes to run the album through.
As expected, guest stars are of the high-profile variety. Nas reprises his "If I Ruled the World" rhyme, and Cuban Link pushes "All I Want Is You" to a beat that's eerily reminiscent of his man Big Pun's "Ain't a Player" remix. But the album's pièce de résistance has got to be "Layaway," which features the long-overdue return of AZ. --Rebecca Levine
