New Aneridan Gospel Reviews

Great mix of death metal and metalcore
If you like bands like Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Six Feet Under or Immolation you will probably love this CD. With that being said if you are a fan of Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall or Sworn Enemy you will probably love this CD even more. Lamb of God is the perfect combination of death metal and metalcore and they will appeal to fans of both, as well as to any one who appreciates good, solid heavy metal. One thing that must be commented on is the skill of the drummer, he is extremely fast and on some songs such as "The Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion" almost inhuman. Every song on this CD is a brutal onslaught of metal madness and it is very extreme with some very cool sounding breakdowns. Another thing to be commented on is the vocalist has a lot of talent, never sounding like a typical death metal growler but never going soft, he pretty much just screams like a madman all the way through, making it sound very good. I will be seeing these guys live soon with Chimaira, Eighteen Visions and Atreyu opening and I am positive they will tear it up.

100% Pure Against The Grain American Metal (thanks Pantera)
That title says it all. Lamb of God are a self-proclaimed crusade to preserve true metal virtues. They do not disappoint on ANY front, with very heavy guitars and bass highlighting most tracks, a growling vocalist who accompanies everything perfectly, and rampaging, rapid-heartbeat double bass drums leading the charge. The first track, "Black Label", is a good summary of the sound of Lamb of God, and it is also the best track on the CD. The next 9 tracks don't relent, with the CD being consistently brutal throughout, which will please most divisions of metalheads. It is very rare for a band in modern times to be as talented and original as Lamb of God, and there is no reason that metalheads shouldn't have this CD. Revolver magazine ranked this album at #29 on the list of the "69 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time." That spot was hard earned and well deserved, and that should show you how good this album really is. If you like metal music, buy this NOW if you don't have it. This thing is, like I mentioned earlier, REAL metal. It's the kind of scary, sick stuff that will have you banging your head and raising your devil-horn salute before you even know the band. Just get it. Lamb of God does NOT disappoint.

Best metalcore CD ever made!!!!
I listen to ALOT of metal, but this CD is by far the best I own. As The Palaces Burn is excellent, but this bypasses it no question. Randy Blythe has the most sick and crazy vocals ever for a metal band. I just can't believe how amazing this Cd and this band is. Every song is absolutely amazing from beginning to end. There's plently of rythem shifts and the drumming is amazing. The song structures are very complex. No riffs that repeat over and over. The best songs are Black Label, Letter to the Unborn , In the Absence of the Sacred, and Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion. This Cd is a MUST HAVE if you love metal and heavy music.

One of the greatest metal albums ever
I just want to start this review off by saying that Lamb of God is breath of fresh air in today's stale ass music scene. They are like the new mellenium Pantera only smarter and more agressive in the music they create. From the moment that the album begins it grips you with the true anger that these guys project through the music. All of the band is awesome with their individual instruments, but to me the drumming on this cd stands out more than anything else. Chris Adler is beating his way to being a legend. The lyrics are also amazing the first time you hear LOG you can't understand alot of the vocals but just read along with the lyrics and you will see how great the lyrics are. The whole album kicks ass but my favorite tracks would have to be "Terror and Hubris in the House of Frank Polard", "The Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion", and "Confessional". This cd is rapidly becoming my favorite metal album ever. Also check out their new album As The Palaces Burn, which many hail as being better than New American.

Horrible
My teacher recently bought this album (as a joke I think). I listened to it and it sucks. I'm sure that this band has talent, but they're not showing much of it on the album. Why is it so hardcore when a guitarist plays a single chord over and over and the lead singer sounds like he's puking into the microphone? The drumming is good, but otherwise, this album is just annoying noise. For real heavy metal, look no further than Black Sabbith or Zeppelin. At least you can hear what Ozzy and Robert Plant are saying!
