Good, but not as good as CNN
Nore's debut is good, but is nowhere near as phat as CNN's "War Report." War Report was almost Nore's first solo since Capone was up north for most of the making of the album. I thought Banned From TV and The Assignment really stood out and NORE, Hed, 40 Island, The Change, Superthug, and Body in the Trunk were all pretty good as well. But, I Love My Life and The Way We Live were totally wack. CNN's "Closer" was a good mix of rap and R&B, but these two songs are not. I thought Fiesta and Mathematics were just blatant attempts at party songs, but they are still okay. Its Not a Game and Da Story are alright, but need work. All in all its a good CD, but I personally can't wait until Capone comes back and CNN drop again.

O.K. Album
This is an O.K. album but there was alot of weak tracks. But I gave it 3 stars because it has some good songs like Superthug, 40 Island, and NORE. I would rather get "The War Report" but if you already own The War Report then it would be good to buy this album.

The Production saved this album...
Noreaga's debut album is a well produced one. The beats are slamming and he sticks to the formula that works. Noreaga isn't a lyrical MC but he does have charisma and energy. The guest appearances are hot and the flow of the album is consistent. Good effort from the N.O.R.E.

Noreaga- N.O.R.E
Noreagas debut album "N.O.R.E" is his best. He shines as a solo artist on it. Album starts off with Big Pun and Nore on "Banned from T.V.", and Victor Santiago reps his roots. Next track is called "I love my life" feat. Carl Thomas (before he was known)
and is really a classic. Nore talks about his life, and the game, and its one of the deepest and illest tracks Nore has ever released. In "N.O.R.E" drops some of the rules of nature, and thuglife. "It not a Game" is a dope track talking about the game and loyalty. "40 Island" Feat Karl G Rap has ill beats, and is a collabo to remember. "Way we Live" feat. Chico Debarge
has Nore talking about women, love, chronic and relationships.
"Change"is another track and the classic "Superthug" is not a track to miss. The Neptunes lace "N.O.R.E" with amazing beats allthroughout the album. On "Mathematics" aka "Esta Loca" Nore talks about his heritage, "Body in the Trunk" feat. Nas is an ill story with two of NY's best. Album ends with Nore talking to Capone who was locked up at time. Alot of people have slept on Nore in past, now their waking up on his latest releases but truth is they are not near as good as the original "N.O.R.E", and neither are the CNN albums in my opinion. Classic album.
Noreaga has been a prime peddler of street-level drama and ghetto anthems ever since his 1997 debut (with Capone), The War Report. While his solo debut, N.O.R.E., lacks the sheer fatalism of his Queens, New York, peers Nas and Mobb Deep, Noreaga is unrepentant in his thugged-out exultation of fast money, fast love, and fast life. Because of his penchant for penning confusing tales that tend toward the cryptic (see the title track), Noreaga might appeal only to an audience eager to listen to stories of project life--just so long as they don't have to live it for themselves. Mostly mediocre production also weakens the album. It's only on two tracks, "Mathematics (Esta Loca)" and "Body in the Trunk," that we glimpse the potential for Noreaga's gifts. --Oliver Wang
