The Best!
This CD was really great, outof her five cd's, it's probably the best album Jaci has made. Here is what I think about each song-God So Loved- this is a nice song, it tells you what God did for us and shows to you how much he loves us, but I think its too slow and it seems kind of boring after a while.
-Show You Love- this is a good song with a good beat
-Little voice inside-Jaci sounds really nice in this song, and the song is about God talking to us inside of us, its really nice
-You- this is one of my favorite songs in the CD, the instruments sound great and the lyrics are nice
-Look what love has done- Like the song before (You) the instruments sound very nice and the song praises god the way we should
-Child of Mine- this song, i think, is a little weird, how god is supposed to be talking to us through that song. But its still nice
-Glory- This is a nice song, it sounds like gospel music
-speak for me- i dont understand why, but this is my favorite song of all (not just the CD, but from any others) it just really gets my attention, and all i want to do wheni hear it is sing aloud with it, this song is very nice
-Paper Tigers-when i first heard this song, i was like "what does paper tigers have to do with God?" but after really listening to it, i think it means that the tigers represent fear, the devil, or anything bad for us and that with God, we dont have to fear it, thats why they are paper tigers, because its just something that cant harm us.
-sweet surrender- this song is very nice, slow but nice
-Made my World- this song is really great, she sounds real cool in this song
Al mundo Dios Amo- i say the same about this song as the first one, only that the language is different
I recommend anyone to buy this CD, if youre crhistian or not.
Jaci's Best Albulm!
There is no stopping Jaci Velasquez, this girl is on fire! No wonder she didn't have a song title for the title of the cd, what one would you pick! Besides, her name sums it all up! Jaci's voice is the one of the best I've heard. It's very strong and confident.
"God So Loved" This song is one of Jaci's best. Extremly pretty. Nice the way she did it in spanish too.
"Show You Love" This is #1! Very catchy! Fast paced and gives you the impression that no one can stop her!
"Little Voice Inside" An ok song. One of her lower songs, but she sounds good on it.
"You" Great song! #2! You can surely feel a Michelle Tumes touch to it. (She wrote it!) Jaci vocals on this song are extrodinary!
"Look What Love has Done" One of the best slower songs. Probebly the one which Jaci's voice sounds the best on.
"Child of Mine" A curious beginning. An ok song.
"Speak for Me" Pretty ok song. Nice long note she does.
"Glory" This is #3! Kinda a halljuah song. Gets your feet bouncing.
"Sweet Surrender" Not much on this song
"Paper Tigers" I don't really know about this song. I still haven't figured it out.
"Made my World" I really love the beginning of this one. The rest of the song is ok.
"Al Mundo Dios Amo" God So Loved in Spanish. Great song.
AWESOME CD!!!!
This CD has got to be Jaci's (By far) best!!
1. God So Loved the World: Extremly good, Jaci's vocie floats over this song like a duck to water. The start is all shimery witch gives you chills in exitment. Then once your done listening to it, your like "WWOOOWW!!!" 5/5
----------------
2. Show You Love: Really up beat and gets you boogie'in! But sometimes it sounds like it's comeing from a "Non-christan" point a veiw witch is disapointing when someone asks if it's christan or not... 3/5
----------------
3. Little Voice: Ooo Jaci's voice is great and the background is really cool sounding! But it creeps me out so I don't listen to it much... 3/5
---------------
4. You: Very good, it shows a lot of the deeper love for God then some of the other ones do. You just got to sing along! 4/5
---------------
5. Look What Love Has Done: This one is alot like the first one musicly and lryicly. But this one is more dance music then slow pop. 4/5
--------------
6. Child of Mine (I Have Come): It took me two years to figure this soung out! It comes from God's point a veiw, not Jaci's. I totaly love the music, very up beat, kinda like "Made my world" 5/5
--------------
7. Speak for Me: One of Jaci's best that is never noticed, unfortunetly. It really means a lot to me, the words are tutching and deep. Buy this CD for this song alone and you'ed be happy! 5/5
--------------
8. Glory: At first I did'nt like this song, but know I really like it! Very good song when it's raining or when you feel sad so this song can raise you spirt! 5/5
---------------
9. Sweet Surrender: This song could be deeper, but it also better not being deep cuz I think Jaci is trying to get the point across. Like in the title of this song it sounds very Sweet, lovely song! 5/5
---------------
10. Paper Tigers: One of my very favorites! Just the best, well other then "God so loved", it has a great massage to say! you'll get hoked on this one!!! 5/5
---------------
11. Made My World: I love the start, just the way it sounds. Very, very up beat. But it's hard to follow and dos'nt make much sense. 3/5
---------------
12. Al Munda Dios Amó: This is "God so loved" in Spanish so look at my reveiw of "God so loved" for this one too ;) 5/5
--------------
In all, her best CD yet and her vocie is incredible in this one!! A MUST buy :D
Making a name for itself
No sophomore slump here, as Jaci Velasquez actually improves upon her excellent debut CD with this effort. Possibly the most beautiful song I've ever heard is contained on this disc: "God So Loved". Some of the CD's best moments are in its rousing, upbeat tracks like "Show You Love", "Made My World" and "Glory". Other highlights are the simple but majestic "You", and "Paper Tigers", which plays like a lullaby. A Spanish version of "God So Loved" that closes the album hints at her burgeoning Latin career. For an album with no name, this one sure makes a name for itself.
Some Great Songs, Some Mediocre Songs
After listening to this CD a few times, I've come away with mixed feelings. It seems like the music is inconsistent...some refreshingly unique songs, others that made me think, "Haven't we heard this before???". On the positive side...as always, Jaci's vocals shine. This is definitely not one of those CDs where you can't understand any of the singing because of overpowering accompaniment. You also pretty much understand the point Jaci is trying to convey in her singing...these are easily understood songs. The first number, "God So Loved the World" is a personal favorite. I love how Jaci has turned a well known Scripture into a great song. The tune and accompaniment (love that "shimmery" sound at the start of the song!) perfectly suit the words, and Jaci's voice sounds beautiful and strong. The CD ends on a good note with "God So Loved the World" sung in Spanish. "Show You Love", the CD's second track, continues the trend. Its unique message, great beat, and intensity make it another attention-grabbing winner.I love the sound and message of paper tigers...the metaphor/symbolism is neat, and Jaci sings it well. Now for the negatives...some of the slow songs, like "You" and "Sweet Surrender" didn't quite do it for me. The accompaniment seems a little cheap-Contemporary Christian music uses too much "tinny" sounding keyboard, and it seems like we've heard these songs a few times before. In short...it's kind of up to you whether or not you'll buy this. For me, a few "standout" numbers didn't make it worth it. It seems like Jaci's trying to find her sound, her uniqueness, and we see flashes of it as well as "more of the same." "Crystal Clear" is the better CD.
The remarkable maturity of Jaci Velasquez's voice, so well displayed on her 1996 debut release, continues on this self-titled second offering. Here, the prodigious 19-year-old rising star has recorded pop gems by the likes of Chris Eaton, producer Mark Heimermann, singer/songwriter deluxe Michelle Tumes, and DC Talk's Toby McKeehan. "God So Loved the World," "You," "Look What Love Has Done," and "Sweet Surrender" are all magnificent examples of topflight writing, production, and singing. Velasquez even shows a gritty side on "Child of Mine" and "Show You Love," revealing a raw power beyond her more tempered efforts. No doubt Miss Velasquez has raised the bar with this outstanding release, widely believed to have helped her win the 1999 Dove Award for best female vocalist. --Michael Lyttle
