J-Lo Cd Review
I just purchased Jennifer Lopez's sophmore cd self entiled J-Lo today. I was surprised to find out that she co-wrote six tracks on this album of 15.That was impressive. Love Don't Cost a Thing, is a great upbeat song with lots of style, which I am sure you have heard that song before. The next track I'm Real, basically sounds like any other fast dance song. I really like her next track called Play, it had an awsome beat and a really catching tune. I was very dissapointed however that she cursed in this song. She said DJ play my mother F***** Song. Fill in the stars. I really did not like that and thought that it was not needed. I can't listen to this track say when my mom drives me to school becuase I would be sheepish when she said that. But if you don't care, and can overlook that it is probably one of the best songs on the CD. Next I like Dance with Me, it is another upbeat dance song. I really don't like the rest of the slow songs becuase to me they all sound the same, and aren't really catchy. However with the ballids she shows off her true voice. Now only if she would every sing live.If you are a fan of J-lO I would buy this CD, even if you don't like her that much, there are about 4 songs on it that are good witch make it worth your money. Hey people i think you should purchase J-LO!!!! it is such a good cd!!! jennifer's voice has gotten fuller in alot of her songs and she has alot of good dance songs. this is a real party albulm!!! heres my review on the albulm:Love Dont Cost A Thing: Very upbeat and Very swift to lift up your mood and its easy to catch on with the words.
I'm Real: 80ish hind of song but still great Jennifers Voice is Really pretty in this song.
Play: Very dancable and fun to listen too.
Walkin On Sunshine: a Dancable yet this song has a great meaning to it and can lift you mood up high.
Aint it Funny: This song has a latin beat with english words and this song is like enrique igleseas's Bailamos but better!!!
Carino: Has marc Anthonys band playing and singing the chorus the word are in english and the beat is so PHAT!!!
Come Over: the first slow song on the albulm. this song is r&b and very Sexual. its slow but you still can kind of dance to it to.
We gotta Talk: in this song jennifer sets the record straight that when your in a relationship music does talk and instead of telling your lover something thats hard to say just dedicate a song like this to them if they are now really paying attention to you. GREAT SONG!!!!!!!
Thats not me: good song!!! puffy produced this song and it has his hip hoppy style in it.
Dance with me: Puff daddy produced song that has a good beat and has a good up beat.
Secretely: Jennifers 2nd slow song for those intimate moments if you know what i mean.
I'm gonna be alright: this song should be one of her singles. it has a great beat and is a womenly song that sets the record straight for there boyfriends.
Thats the way: this is like my favorite song on this alblulm it has good meaningful words and a great beat and in this song jennifer shows her r&b voice clearly which her voice is beatiful.
Dame: great song with Chayanne. jennifer gos back too her latin roots and this song is very sensual. In SPANISH.
Si Ya Se Acabo: this song truly shows the power of jennifers voice in spanish alone!!!! this song is great!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jennifer Lopez finally got it right...BUT
J.LO, actress-turned-singer Jennifer Lopez's second album, outdoes its predescesor ON THE 6 by a million times a million. This album is overall the best from Lopez's repitoire. Love this record! I don't agree with Mike who officially reviews the album: Lopez is NO Latina Madonna. Selena is and always will be! Lopez, although with this album makes her first steps toward becoming a sizzlin' performer, is no Selena.

Not that great!
The only songs I liked on this album was the first track and well, maybe that's the only song I really liked. J.Lo cannot sing so the studios use special equipment to make her seem like she can. Every video she makes is just to show off, she's half naked all the time, she acts like a skank and probably is in real life, hey look at her personal life especially crappy Ben Affleck. She may be a Puerto Rican but she does a pathetic attempt in the music itself to show how true she is. J.Lo stick to acting, you're okay at that.

Lo, the follow-up to her multiplatinum 1999 debut On the 6, makes little attempt to tinker with the Latina-soul formula that record patented, employing an army of coproducers and writers (including partner Puffy) to assemble a slick 15-track affair. If anything, Lopez's sound is safe, even retro, with some tracks looking back to the 1980s--particularly the Michael Jackson-influenced "I'm Real" and the funky, impressive "Play." Her Puerto Rican background comes to the fore on a handful of Spanish numbers, notably "Cariño," which samples Cuban percussionist Mongo Santamaria's "Sofrito" to impressive effect. It goes badly wrong on the "La Isla Bonita" soundalike "Ain't It Funny," which merely serves to reinforce the impression that Lopez is happy to settle for being the Latina Madonna. --Mike Pattenden
