You Dudes Is Wack, Face It The Wu Is Back!
Yo, i've had this cd for over a year now. And for about 6 months it was heavy in my rotation. As i bought other albums, I started listening to it less frequently. But today i picked it up and played it through and WOW! The Wu is amazing! Rza lays down all of the beats except three. But even the tracks he dosen't lace are up to par with the ones he does. As for the rhymes, there excellent as usual. The album gets off to a blast with "In The Hood", next is the equally hard hitting "Rules", I especially like Ghostface's verse on this in reference to 9/11. Next is the smoothed out "Chrome Wheels", well its not exactly THAT smooth, but on the rugged Wu standards, it definily is. This is followed by "Soul Power(Black Jungle)" Featuring Flava Flav the former Public Enemy member. It has a strange backround with voices and African sounding drums, but it definitly works! "Pinky Ring" is the first single off the album and its some straight bassy, jazzey, Fire! Next is "One Of These Days" which has a nice piano beat. "Ya'll Been Warned" follows, it has a electronic beat and Method Man steals the show with his verbal fire on both the chrous AND indvigual versus. Next is "Babies" a rather haunting, but none the less enjoyable song.The song that follows this "Radioactive (Four Assassins)" is just crazy with a flowing electronic yet hard and pounding beat.The beat bangs as Method Man, Gza, Masta Killa, & Raekwon spit amazing verses.But its not over yet! Ron Isley pops in with his angelic voice to sing the hook on the smooth "Back In The Game". The title track, "Iron Flag" follows. This features a nice Rza beat, and some old Wu-Tang movie samples. The last track "Dashing (Reasons)" has a crazy beat by Rza and Inspectah Deck kills the first verse, just straight up smashes it! Definitly get this album and everyone by the Wu right about NOW!
