This may not be EWF's most innovative or creative album like All 'N' All but it still delivers. The horns are kickin on all the tracks, especially on "In The Stone". "Star", "Boogie Wonderland", and "You And I" are catchy as hell and "Wait" and "After The Love Has Gone" slow down the pace a bit but not too much. My favorite song is "Can't Let Go" which is great here but even better on the "Live In Rio" cd. The only song on here that's a little iffy is "Rock That" but the album as a whole doesn't suffer and is still well deserving of 5 stars.
Earth,Wind & Fire have made to the close of the 70's and deliver an album of nine songs I can sing word for word.
Cathiness is the key of bright dance-funk tracks like "In The
Stone","Can't Let Go","Let Your Feelings Show" and the near gospel of "Star".And the sumptuous ballads "Wait","You And I"
and the hit "After The Love Has Gone" are all a welcome part
of the show,even with the hard-edged instrumental "Rock That!"
and "Boogie Wonderland",whitch in comaprasin to it's mighty company is the weakest cut on this album but that's fairly
subjective considering.Boiling it all down EVERY cut on "I Am"
is worthy of being a massive chart and radio hit and it must
have been hard to choose from this highly memorable collectiont
that already reasembles a greatest hits album.Probably the first place one should go to start discovering this bands music.
