My Favorite Album!!
I was only 13 years old when I heard this album and I immediatly fell in love with the songs and the guys! I have listened to the album every day! I was a complete New Kids On The Block fan. I went to two concerts, I had posters, pictures, books, T-shirts, those little buttons and those huge buttons, the dolls, EVERYTHING! Yes, I was obsessed! I especially loved Joey McIntyre, then known as Joey Joe. I had all their albums and videos. In fact, my first video was the Hangin' Tough video cassette with videos of all their songs (which I still have). I got that before I went to my first concert. My dad was going to take me to a concert (what parents will do for their children!) and it was sold out. I was crushed! The next day he went out and bought me the video! I was able to go to the next concert! Now, I'm 24 years old and STILL love them! I just bought their greatest hits album and Joey's new CD and I'm getting ready to buy Jordan's! Also, if any other diehard fans want to contact me, I'd love to hear from you! We NKOTB fans need to stick together!
The Album That Started It All!
After the break up on "New Edition" in 1984, Maurice Starr wanted to create a new teenage group. The group would contain 5 members (Just like New Edition). Over 3,000 people auditioned and 5 were chosen and in 1985, they were givin the name "New Kids On The Block" In 1986, they released there first self-titled album "New Kids On The Block". It unfortunetly, didn't do very well, but they bounced back in 1988 with "Hangin' Tough" and that was the beginning! In 1989, they went to the Top 10 and by 1990, they already had 7 plantinum hits! Now, lets get back to the album! This album contains 10 songs that made the New Kids popular in the late 80s. We have our fast dance songs like "Cover Girl" and "The Right Stuff" and then we have our slow jams like "Please Don't Go Girl" and "I'll Be Loving You (Forever)" The album is about 40 minutes in total, but I am sure any 80s fan would like to hear some old school classics for sure! So, put on your Reebok's, Hook up your old Nintendo, Pin your socks and listen down to memory lane!
The New Kids Rock!!!!!!!!!
First of all, I am not under 13. I just don't like giving out information online. Anyway, this is the best New Kids On The Block album that I have heard so far. I was very young when the New Kids On the Block were a group so I don't really remember them. I think that the New Kids are better than the boybands today. In fact, of all the boybands today I prefer the New Kids... and i'm 13. In case you are wondering, my favorite member is Jon.
NKOTB suck
If these guys never existed, the Backstreet Boys and N'sync would of never existed. Wouldn't that of been great?
Avoid at all costs.
Old kids and new men on the block
In 1988,when this album was released,New Kid On The Block Danny Wood became a new man. In other words,he turned 18 that year. Donnie Wahlberg was already a man(age 19). Joseph McIntyre was still a kid(age 15). Jonathan Knight is older than Wahlberg and Jonathan's brother Jordan was still a kid also. Two years earlier,NYOTB received very little attention with their self-titled debut. No songs from that album made it to the Top 20. Here is the album that drove NKOTB to superstardom. Between summer 1988 and summer 1989,this album spawned 4 Top 20 hits,(You Got It)THE RIGHT STUFF,PLEASE DON'T GO GIRL,COVER GIRL and I'LL BE LOVING YOU(FOREVER). At the time of this album's release,NKOTB were making headlines and gracing covers of magazines such as Bop,16 and Teen Beat. Their popularity was killed by future musical acts like the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync.
