Straight Up
This cd is without a doubt, one of the best cds out for the year. Period. Every time I listen to this cd, I start to understand more and more of what Prodigy is really saying. Look past the gun play, murders and women in his lyrics and you have one of the most talented, underrated lyricists of the rap game. He tells stories so vividly and chooses clever words to flow with. Check out Genesis and see if you don't agree. The best song on here is Diamond. The beat, lyrics, everything flows together perfectly. But don't forget the rest of the album is tight too, so pick it up if you want to hear some truly amazing music. Much love to Mobb Deep and Queensbridge.
Prodigy Hits It Huge, A Classic Album
Though this album was met by some skepticism, I love it. The lyrics and production are off the hook. This was a classic!Prodigy was at the top of his game and I loved his flow, it was great on this album, which has 22 almost-non fast forward tracks that deserve to be in any rapfans CD player. If you like rap buy this album, it's one of my favorites! I can't wait till Prodigy's next solo album and the next Mobb Deep album, but please, take the skits off!Though almost every track is great, my favorites were "Genesis", "Rock Dat"( a definite club bumper), "What U Rep" with Noreaga, the single "Keep It Thoro", "Delt With The Bull", "Trials Of Love", "HNIC", the haunting "Veteran's Memorial", "Do It", "YBE" with BG, "Diamond", "Gun Play", and the heartfelt "You Can Never Feel My Pain".
CLASSIC
This album is straight grimey if u aint from da
streets or like street music this album aint
for u this album has perfect production and
prodigy on the track its a rap ..CLassic..
one of the albums that you must own
One half of the infamous Mobb Deep, Prodigy, the H.N.I.C's debut album. In this album P portrays his view of his gangsta life style in such details , and overall production is very strong from beginning to end. Havoc manages to deliver classic beats to match up with P's dark lyrics. Personally, I think its' one of those albums that grows on you. More you listen to it, more you'll get in to it. P's lyrics gets more personal in this album than any of other Mobb Deep albums and his heartfelt voice in "Never Feel My Pain" is one of the gems. This album should be one of the classics in anyone's list in Hip Hop.
strait classic
this album right here is one of the best that you will ever here again so if you aint' heard it then you sleepin' on this kid the intro is bangin' wit bars&hooks the 'Genesis'to me is the tightest song on whole album but this is one of those albums you can let play all the way through sick lyrics and the beats is bangin' most of the productions are from havoc who is the hottest producers out there but yo if you aint' got this you aint' got nothin.HOLLA!!!
Although H.N.I.C. is billed as Prodigy's solo debut, it's liberally peppered with guest appearances. Mobb Deep's infamous one chose, with the exception of Cash Money Millionaire B.G., to rely on folks of Queens pedigree. His borough loyalty gives H.N.I.C. a polished yet organic-sounding edge on today's crop of industry-endorsed thugs. The bulk of H.N.I.C's subject matter scores few points for originality, but no one speaks to corner-hustling shorty rocks as clearly as P. Standout tracks in the Mobbphonic vein include "Infamous Minded." Featuring Big Noyd, the song references BDP's "Criminal Minded" and is pushed over the top by a badass reggae-tinged beat. Havoc contributes both lyrical and rhythmic support; his beat on "Wanna Be Thugs" proves why he's the production don of Queensbridge. Getting past the gun talk and guest appearances, "You Never Feel My Pain," which unflinchingly details P's battle with sickle cell anemia, is a hardcore analysis of the artist's frame of reference for daily living. That alone is worth the price of admission. --Rebecca Levine END
