Malmsteen on fire!
Malmsteen once again shines on this album.He shows that he can create very artistic and briliant compositions and he forms one of his best work along with "Trilogy" and "Rising Force".His compositions on this CD are a bit different from his usual style due to the addition of a string section of violins and violas which give a much more symphonic edge.Songs like the blistering Fire and Ice , the romantic I'm my own enemy and the incredible instrumental Leviathan are some of Malmsteen's best.The only drawback to this album is the awful song called Teaser(which shout commercial) and the lack of giving credits to J.S Bach for using his Badinerie in Cry no more.But overall this is a great baroque neo-classical rock-metal album.PS : After the release of Fire and Ice Yngwie lost his contract with Electra records because he couldn't match the briliance of the popular at the time grunge bands!

I cannot believe all these evaluations posted here on this site section saying negatively that "Fire and Ice" is not a high quality material cd/album. These evaluations are wrong. Fire & Ice is an Excellent album cd that has 13 great tracks, with the exception of Teaser. I don't like that song at all, but pretty much the other songs do have alot of rhythm musically, and the vocals are great. All vocals on this album/cd are sung by Goran Edman. You are not wasting your time if you buy this Cd. The music rocks, and the vocals rock. Goran Edman sings with such energy and feeling. This [CD]is recommended to all. I even recommend this to all pretty girls from the Anglo Saxon cycle [race]. I will post some of the track standouts on this album/Cd- "Dragon fly" "Cry no more" "Final Curtain" "Perpetual" "I'm my own enemy" just to list a few. Goran Edman also sings on the Yngwie J.Malmsteen Cd titled "ECLIPSE" . ECLIPSE IS ALSO A FANTASTIC CD. But back to the subject FIRE AND ICE IS A HIT!
While I love Yngwie's music, I have to say I was a little disppointed in this CD. I really wanted to like it and I've given it a spin on repeated occasions to see if it would grow on me, but I find it somewhat difficult to listen to. It doesn't have the same vibrance as many of the Maestro's other releases. As always, technically, Yngwie doesn't disappoint and Goran Edmond shines on the vocals just as he did on Eclipse, but I often find myself getting bored while listening to this CD. It's not a bad CD and not a total waste of money, but I think it will appeal more to die-hard fans and not to the masses. Even though I am a die-hard fan, this CD stays on the shelf more than it gets put in the CD player. Definitely not one of Yngwie's best.

He is the only one from the Malmsteen Vocalists
that has done quite well when it comes to vocals.
He has also sung for bands such as Glory, and
right now is in a band called, "Kharma."
Fire and Ice is okay, but the best material is
from Eclipse. It be nice if Goran Edman were to
be in Impellitteri.
More Fire Than Ice
This cd is a definite must have for all Yngwie fans and great for others investigating. However, this is the reviews for the IMPORT album and the others below don't seem to realize that...can someone please rate the import...I've never even heard of all these extra songs...is it a typo?
