AWESOME!
One thing that I totally love in a CD is when you can put it in your CD player and just let it play the whole way through without having to get up and skip over songs. This is one of the few albums I own that I can do that with. Every song on here is explosive and demonstrates the awesome sound of punk rock. To me, the tracks that stand out the most on here would have to be: Walk the Walk, Ordinary, and I Won't Lie Down. All you punk music fans out there have gotta check out this CD!
Probably one of the most overlooked punk albums ever.
This was my first Face to Face album and it is also their best. How this CD has gone all but unnoticed is beyond me. It has always been one of my favorites and for good reason. F2F rips through a twelve song set that never lets up. Trevor and the guys play relentless, addicting, driving, punk/rock that does not dissappoint even the toughest critics. If you like pop-punk, punk, rock and roll, really anything rock-related, this album is for you. Although I am not too hard to please when it comes to punk related music, this is truly one of the heavyweights of the genre. I can not put enough emphasis on how vital this release is for your collection. Go get it.
Face to Face's Coup de Gras
Face to Face is a truly phenominal band, and this album synergizes their trademark qualities-- melody-driven songs, intense punk speed, and life-changing lyrics. There are no weak tracks; Lead singer Trever Keith's vocal stylings give each song a sense of urgency and immediacy that simply can't be ignored. When listening to the album, one gets the sense that Keith vows to keep fighting for what he believes in no matter the cost.
The album is instantly relatable, because it appeals to anyone who has ever fought for a cause or been misunderstood. This isn't typical "Down with the system" punk, though. The lyrics are written in such a manner that the listener can apply them to many situations.
That's probably why this CD has been spinning in my CD player for over three years-- the amazing versatility of each track.
Buy this album.
5 stars!
Keeping the streak of 5 star ratings going. One of only a handful of CDs that I never get tired of. Hagfish s/t, Dag Nasty Field Day, and Descendents Liveage also make that list.
Five star pop punk? Believe it!
Face To Face is the only 90's pop punk band that warrants five stars in my book. This album is absolutely fantastic. There's plenty of typical new school punk here, but the overall vibe is more of a hyper-charged rock feel. Songs like "I Won't Lie Down" leave the hyper beats and whatnot behind and make a powerful statement. Catchy choruses, a must for any poppy punk band, abound here, and the hooks get better with each listen. These songs are all quality rock tunes that truly stick in your head. They aren't the contrived attempts at catchiness that you hear Fenix TX and the like churning out. All in all, this is far from deep art, but Face To Face will definitely leave you singing along long after other bands overstay their welcome.
