CLASSIC Wu-Tang
1993 was another tremendous year in hip hop. Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Moon, and others dropped gems in 93. But the hip hop world sat up and took notice when the Wu-Tang Clan dropped their first album "Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). No other group made such an impact as this group did, ok maybe in line with N.W.A.m, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, just to name a few. But this nine man group had an effective sound NEVER heard in hip hop before, and that's what made them so tight. And what resulted was one of the greatest albums ever. Here's the review:Bring Da Ruckus (RZA, GZA, Inspektah Deck, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon, what better way to begin an album by challenging ANYONE to bring the ruckus)
Shame On A Nigga (ODB, Method Man, Raekwon, tight stuff here)
Clan In Da Front (GZA, the genius of the Clan gets to show why he's one of the best members in the group, lyrically)
Wu-Tang:7th Chamber (the entire clan, except U-God, everyone shines on this track)
Can It Be All So Simple (Raekwon and Ghostface, an introduction to the supreme duo of Rae and Ghost)
Da Mystery Of Chessboxin (Inspektah Deck, U-God, Ghostface, Method Man, ODB, Raekwon, and Masta Killa, just awesome and mind blowing at the same time)
Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing To F' Wit (RZA, Method Man, and Inspektah Deck, classic Wu-Tang here)
C.R.E.A.M. (Raekwon, Method Man, and Inspektah Deck, CLASSIC MATERIAL, one of the greatest songs ever in hip hop and coined the most popular slang term for money)
Method Man (Meth goes solo on this one, ripping the mic, setting the seeds for his first album, cememting his position as the most popular and recognized member in the group)
Protect Ya Neck (the entire clan except Masta Killa, classic where the group shows what they are like when they are together)
Tearz (RZA and Ghostface, great song)
Wu-Tang:8th Chamber/Conclusion (they conclude this CLASSIC with a BLAZING remix of the original track)
It's a shame that the Wu aren't this catchy now, but in 93 (and up to 98-99), they had their brush with greatness and this classic resulted. Purchase this album NOW if you don't own it.
Can you fight the Wu Tang sword style?
It's not often that you can pick up an album which is 100% raw talent. In fact, I could safely say that in the past decade I've found less than ten albums which deserve the above accolade. Wu Tang's 36 chambers take that down to 9.
36 Chambers was groundbreaking. It created a whole new sub-culture within the Rap and Hip Hop genre, and gave us more talent in one album that at the time could be found in a selection of twenty. I remember listening to it and knowing that this album had changed my perception of music, Rap and Hip Hop forever.
In seven years I still haven't found a place within 36 Chambers that makes me want to switch to another room. There's not one bad verse, one weak link. The chain is solid. How anyone could mix the bounciness of Shame on a Nigga, with the emotion of Tearz, and the threats of Bring da Ruckus, with the insight of C.R.E.A.M., it's beyond me. No wonder that the production force of the RZA is much coveted.
Of course it helps that the Clan's members all have their own unmistakable style. But remember - 36 Chambers was the beginning, the start of the whole thing. Look at Method Man, Look at the ODB, Inspectah Deck, Rza, Gza, Ghostface Killah. Lok at where they are, and what they're doing now. It's all on the back of 36 Chambers, when their talent was first brought to light.
They say, the birth of a new life is the most incredible thing one can ever see. With 36 Chambers, we saw a multiple labour.
Can you fight the Wu Tang sword style? Not a chance.
best wu cd
This CD is impeccable. Except for that one idiot who's claiming 50ยข is the greatest, i think we all agree that this cd is nearly flawless. I'd say that every track is the best song on the cd. I highly reccomend this is your a wu fan at all, and if youre not, you should probably buy it and give it to someone who is, therefore making their life complete.
A Classic Legendary Album
Even if you are not really into this kind of hip hop, you will still probably enjoy this album. Its just quality and original. And it is also historically signficant, and spurned the many solo projects of Wu Tang members, and even led to many TV and movie appearances (Method Man in How High and Method & Red; Raekwon in Black & White)
On the other hand, it shoudl have had more tracks. I mean, after all, with all those Wu Tang memebrs, do you mean to tell me that they could only come up with like a dozen songs?
Great album

I don't find words to explain how ignorant this so called rap or hip-hop fan is.Please learn about hip-hop and then write reviews.Or stick listening to your crappy commercial poppy beats of Fiddy Cent.Learn about hip-hop and then come and speak. You ignorant f*ck.You say the underground its garbage.Keep listening to you Britney Spears hip-pop "artists".Ignorant f*ck.The people who give 1 star to 50 cent are not rap haters. They are true hip-hop heads. And 50 does not make his own beats.Stupid.How can you call yourself hip-hop fan and say wu its garbage.Ok it may not be your style but don't call them garbage.Ignorant stupid person. You don't know anything about hip-hop.
