Dru Hill brings order with new Lp.........Dru Order
Dru Hill comes back after a long break to break another cd off on us. They come back with that familar sound with a few new changes and a new member(His name is Scola). How is it this time around? Very solid album. They didnt get too experimental but stayed close to that classic sound while branching off just a little. Songs I was feeling?Love/Hate -- Tight intro that really shows how much they can sing....the new meber can really sing good too.
Xstacy Jones -- Tight slow jam with them explaning some things to the possible "one" for the night.
I should be -- One of my favorite songs here. Classic Dru here saying they should be the one.
If I could -- This song is one of the tightest songs on the album...should be the next single. Hip/hop R+B song with good lyrics and good flow.
Men Always Regret
I do Millions -- A song with them taking retrospect on how they made it and how fortunate they are and blessed. Nice song with a gospel feel to it.
Overall they came strong for this album although they didnt bring that much new flavor compared to their last cd. They have all gone through a lot trying to do solo projects and still are
while still maintaining the group. For a mintue it looked like this album wouldnt happen....but it did. Fans of dru hill definetly need to get this. Non -fans should check this out if they like R+B or just good singing. Its not as strong as I thought it would be but still a very good come back. Prepare for Dru order with this new one....get it!
Amazing album- go get it!!
I have been a Dru Hill fan for the longest and I couldn't wait to get this album. If you are looking for actual singing, this album is it. Their voices are beautiful and the entire album is well worth it. The new member Scola, has an incredible voice. On this album, you can hear each members voice unlike some other groups. There are some very good ballads and up-tempo songs. This album is the true definition of a talented R&B group. Some of my favorites from this album are "No Doubt","I Love You", and " Men Always Regret", a wonderful ballad that has a very good message. Dru Hill had been off the scence for a while, but this album is a great come back and I look forward to future albums from the 5 talented guys of Dru Hill. So, If you want to hear some god music and hear songs that everyone can relate to Dru World Order is the perfect album. I recommend it to any and everyone. The vocals on this album are incredible!!
Hmmm....I don't Know about this
When Dru Hill came out with their self titled debut, many people were hooked right off but still some called them a Jodeci rip off. They proved that they are not just a Jodeci rip off but a very unique urban R&B group. Their sound was somewhere between Boys II Men and Jodeci...very sensual with a street edge. No one could touch them and a third album was eagerly awaited.
With all that said lets talk about Dru World Order. Songs such as "I love you", "I Should Be", and "Millions" remind you of the Dru Hill we have come to love, but overall something seems to be missing. Its almost as if they were reluctant or maybe even forced to do this album. As a Dru Hill fan I really hate to admit that I was highly dissapointed by this album.
If you are a Dru Hill fan buy it to listen to the few goodies that are there and just to keep the collection going. I have to warn you though, this album lacks the magic of the previous two.
Sorry fellow Dru fans, this album is only average
JUST OKAY
I expected a lot more from this album. Dru Hill's last album was da bomb but this one was just okay. I think what really hurt them is that they stayed out of the spotlight a little to long. Some of the songs really catches your attention but overall, the album is just okay.
worried for nothing:)
i was really worried after sisqo's last solo project that dru hill would be done. they needed a really strong album to bounce back from that mess and they did it:)i bought this cd with nervousness hoping it was great and it was. like they never missed a beat from thier last album. if you heard the second sisqo album you would share my concern after that i didnt know if anyone would take them serious again, but the bottom line is they did it, they put out a great album and a great single and they showed that they truely deserve success. if you like dru hill go get this you wont be disappointed. and I am pretty sure now, dru hill isnt going anywhere:)
Way cool Baltimore R&B posse Dru Hill have it all--boy band sentiments, Motown harmonies, hip-hop handles, and, with the release of Dru World Order, one of the snappiest album titles around. While songs like "Never Stop Loving You," "I Love You," and "Old Love" make it clear the combo isn't about to mess with a winning formula of canoodling, come-hither ballads, Dru World Order takes some detours. The hypnotically rhythmic "No Doubt" jumps with a vaguely Eastern-meets-Caribbean vibe bound to have custom SUVs quaking on the Interstate. Queensbridge emcee N.O.R.E. adds dope rhymes to the ghetto-fabulous "On Me," while Dru Hill's Def Soul labelmate Chinky, of R&B quartet LovHer, adds airy, silken female vocals to the ridiculously catchy, pop-damaged "She Said." And if a dude can't make it to second base while a knock-kneed love song like "I Do (Millions)" plays in the background, then there's no hope. --Kim Hughes
