ONE STEP CLOSER TO GOD
I just have to say that I think Jaci Velasquez has done more than just make another album. I for one have been truly inspired by this CD. I listened to her first album a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but then I quit listening to most Christian music altogether. Now, a few years later, I'm trying to get my life on track, and on a whim I picked up this CD, Crystal Clear. Let me say, its wonderful! theres not a song on the album that hasnt spoken to me in its own unique way. Each song holds an incredible message inside it, if you just listen. Messages I believe God Himself would want each and every one of us to hear. Her voice is incredible and the music is a lot of fun. So get out there and buy this thing!

This album inspires me in so many ways than one! It makes me smile, it makes me sing, it makes me hope.. the album is so great from the fast, upbeat songs to the slow, sweet and inspirational ones! "Just a prayer away", "Imagine me without You" and "Adore" are songs that will really touch your heart. And the absolutely fabulous duet in "Come as YOu are" is just the best i have heard. ive recommended it to so many of my friends already.. and they have fallen in love with itJaci sings her songs from the heart.. and it comes out in every song that she sings... listening to this album.. makes everything "Crystal Clear" in life....

I heard the song "Adore" sang by another singer in church and liked it so much that I went out and bought the original. Maybe the girl at church spoiled me or something, because I really don't think Jaci Velasquez has a very strong voice *at all*. It's very nasal, peppy and bubble-gummy. She sounds like the poor man's Vanessa Carlton (of secular fame) with less lyrical originality. The tunes are definitely catchy and commercial and preferable to anything you hear on the radio, but she just isn't a very good singer. In many songs, you can actually hear her running out of breath, her vibrato wavering, etc. I'm not cursing the day I bought this album or anything like that - it's palatable enough - but I don't think I'll be buying another one of hers. If I want Christian pop with powerhouse vocals by a young girl, I'll stick to Rachael Lampa.
Very talented
Jaci Velasquez is one very talented individual. She's so amazing as a singer and its crystal clear that she's a great singer. The songs in her cd are wonderful, positive and hopeful. She's got such a beautiful voice. Its definately worth buying. Can't wait for her next cd! The songs definately fall more into a soft pop category, so if you like that sort of music, then this just might be it for you.
