Aquemini Reviews
SWEPT OFF MY FEET! ! ! ! ! !
I must admit I rarely listen to rap or hip hop, but this cd was given to me from a friend with more knowledge... Now I can't stop listen to it, 'cause it's great! Thank you Outkast, for making those lyrics sound so sweet in my ears and for making those beats to move to!!! ("Aquemini" must be the album of 1998 for me...)
Their best CD Yet!!!
Outkast captivated us with ATaliens soundtrack and continues with success on their new sound tack by taking us to a new level with Aquemini featuring the hit single Rosa Parks
actually, 10 stars
this is some of the most brilliant manifestations of musicanship that i have ever heard. solely on the basis of this album, outkast has earned their future spot in the rock 'n roll hall of fame. these guys are top of the line r&b/rap/hip-hop scene. rosa parks, slump, return of the g, and spottieottiedopaliscious are my favs, but i can listen to the whole disc nonstop, and even end upon end sometimes. if you love hip hop in any form you should own this album.
the most original
I think this album is the best to come out in a long time.Big Boi and andre do it again. You gotta respect these guys for always coming up with fat beats with a positive message. Its definitely tighter than any old shoot em up slang the dope unoriginal gangster rap
its the awesomest cd in the world, man!
i like outkast because their music is tight dude. i surf to their music every day. people get mad at me for listening to their music, cause they would rather listen to korn and stuff like that.i dont have any thing against korn and people like that but you just can't listen to korn while i surf DUDE.so like if you dont have this TOTALLY AWESOME cd your stupid luv surf dudett angela
It takes a few listens to sink in, but on
Aquemini
, Outkast have pulled off a rare feat in hip-hop: they've made a good record that's a masterpiece of subtlety. What's more, it's their third record, and they've yet to fall into a rut--and that alone puts them in line for an award. The Organized Noize production crew is sublime, working with live musicians and crafting hook-filled soundscapes that complement Big Boi and Andre Benjamin's melodic patter. (See "Rosa Parks," "Chonkyfire," and the epic "Liberation," which features Erykah Badu, Cee Lo, and Big Rube--and clocks in at just under nine minutes.) Classy and intelligent, Outkast haven't sacrificed anything in their quest to make challenging, innovative hip-hop that forgoes idle boasting for the duo's message. A sample, from the title track: "Now, question: Is every nigga wit dreads for the cause? / Is every nigga wit golds for the fall? Naw / So don't get caught in appearance."
