Adrenalize Reviews

DOESN'T GET MY ADRENALINE PUMPING
Let me start off by saying Def Leppard is my favorite band ever and a 3 star album from them is better than many band's 5 star albums but this album does not do it for me. It has it's highlights. "White Lightning" is a great tribute to fallen Leppard brother Steve "Steamin" Clark and musically and lyrically a bit of a departure from the power ballads and arena anthems expected. It comes across very nicely. "Tonight" is an all time favorite Def Leppard song of mine. It is also a bit of a different sound and Joe Elliott's vocals are exceptional on this track. I also really enjoy "Tear It Down" which was first heard at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. It is rather fun. Two Ballads, "Stand Up Kick Love Into Motion" and "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad" are also good as well as rockers like "Personal Property" and "Heaven Is". My problems come from "Let's Get Rocked" and "I Wanna Touch You". While the first one is fun to listen to, it gets old and it seems a step backward from the first 2 songs I mentioned. The latter song is a cheap attempt to make another "Pour Some Sugar On Me" but without the immuendo. This cd is good if not compard to any other Leppard cd which are all superior to this one but it is not a bad album. It just has a few problems. I do reccomend it because all Leppard is worth buying. DO YOU WANNA GET ROCKED?

one of the best
The place where Hysteria left the band before this album was very hard to climb, any other songs could be mediocre than adrenalize one's, LET'S GET ROCKED, WHITELIGHTING, MAKE LOVE LIKE A MAN; are real hit's that make's keep the faith in def leppard, it's very hard to reach the top, but it's harder to support this place in the music.

Radio-friendly garbage
Def Leppard attempt to return to their 1980's-era glory with 'Adrenalize'. It's full of weak pop melodies and sappy MTV lyrics. Definitely not a rocker in the likes of 'On Through The Night', or even 'Pyromania'. I recommend you skip this one in favor of when Def Lep were lean, mean, and true.

Still a great album, and their first with Mike Shipley!
I still love "Adrenalize!" Though "Pyromania" and "Hysteria" will always be classics, Def Leppard should be commended for making this album. The rockers like "Let's Get Rocked", "I Wanna Touch You", "Make Love Like A Man", "Heaven Is", "Personal Property" and others are all superb! I still love the song "Tonight." It should have gone to No. 1 instead of No. 62 in the Billboard Hot 100. It's such a nice ballad and Joe Elliott sounds passionate on it. "White Lightning" is still a strong power ballad that builds up its momentum during its 7 minutes. Although I didn't like it at first, I like "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad" now. Took me 20 listens to like it more now. But the album's other strong point is Mike Shipley producing the album. Shipley's direction with the album is superb given the shifting rhythms and turns of the songs. It's a pattern that he has been good at with later albums by Enrique Iglesias, Faith Hill, Andrew W.K., Winger and others. Because of "Adrenalize," I respect Mike Shipley's involvement on albums a lot more. This is still one of the '90s best rock albums and I commend DL for continuing on with its career after losing one of its members, Steve Clark. Steve would have been proud of this album too!

Unbelievable...their best by far
Don't get me wrong, I loved Pyromania and Hysteria. They are both amazing albums that epitomized the 80's in every way. However, Adrenalize is not only my favorite album they ever produced, it is my favorite cd EVER by anyone, hands down. From "Lets get rocked" to "Have you ever needed someone so bad" this album had everything you could want on it. It's a lot of fun to listen to, and the ballads are just incredible. Todays music is either so stupid that you can't bear to listen to it or too depressing. This album is neither. Just plain awesome, and the lyrics are phenominal. I may only be 21 but I know great rock and no one to this day has topped their efforts on this one. Just buy it and you'll see what I mean.
